Eve walked along the pier, looking for Julian. She came across a bum leaning against one of the warehouses. “Pssst, lady, come here,” he said. “You looking for someone?”
Cautiously, Eve walked toward the
guy. “You haven’t seen a man in his fifties out here, have you?”
she asked. “Gray hair, nicely dressed?”
“Yeah, I did,” the bum replied. “He said to give this to the
beautiful lady who might be looking for him out here; it has to be you.”
The bum handed her a piece of paper.
On the paper was one word: Cannery. Eve didn’t know whether she should trust the bum or not. What should she do?
